It’s now been a month since Brabham Automotive revealed the BT62 in London, but we haven’t quite seen what the car is capable of yet.
This week, the company has given us a brief glimpse, posting the above video showing the new track-only supercar speeding around Phillip Island raceway in Victoria, Australia.
It’s also the first time we get to hear that glorious 5.4-litre V8 engine, which claims to develop 522kW of power and 667Nm of torque – not bad for an old-school naturally-aspirated motor. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed Holinger sequential transmission.
While Brabham doesn’t quote performance figures, the BT62’s 972-kilogram weight claim leads us to believe that it would absolutely fly.
Additionally, that massive rear wing is said to generate up to 1200kg of downforce – that way it won’t actually fly.
Pricing for the BT62 begins at £1 million ($1.8 million) before taxes and options. The vehicle will be built at a 15,000 square metre factory in Adelaide with the first deliveries expected to be made later this year.
But that’s enough facts and figures, check out the video above for more!
