And it’ll haul, tow and wave with the best?
Bollinger Motors has revealed its second model, the B2 dual-cab ute, with a 120kWh battery pack and a 2265kg load capacity.
Under that blocky all-aluminium body, the B2 blends a 120kWh battery pack with electric motors on both axles, good for 388kW/700Nm. It’ll hit 97km/h in 6.5 seconds, if that’s important to you, and offers a useful 2265kg payload and 3400kg towing capacity.
Range is a claimed 200mi (322km) on the EPA test cycle, and you’ll be able to charge in 75 minutes using a level-three DC fast charger, or 10 hours on a regular wall plug.
Ground clearance is a claimed 380mm, with 52-degree approach angle, 25-degree break over angle and a 28-degree departure angle. Bollinger claims a 900mm wading depth, too.
As with the B1, key to the car’s appeal is the ability to carry big, long and awkward objects without breaking a sweat. With no internal-combustion engine taking up space in the front, you’re able to flip down the ‘grille’ and load items from tail-to-tip, carrying objects up to five metres long within the vehicle’s footprint.
There’s space for four passengers inside, but the rear seats can be removed and the rear window raised to open up more cargo space.
At the moment, the B2 exists only in a set of renders. It’s set for production as a prototype in early 2019, alongside the B1 four-wheel drive.
