Issues with the rear seatbelts force campaign
Volkswagen has recalled the 2018 Polo, over concerns about the left-rear seatbelt releasing under certain conditions.
According to the company, the left-rear seatbelt lock could be accidentally released when there are passengers in the central and left-rear seats.
Volkswagen says the car’s front- and rear-seatbelt alerts will warn drivers if the seatbelt does come undone, but asks customers not to use the central rear seat.
The number of cars caught up in the recall is yet to be determined, but owners of affected vehicles will be contacted when more information is available.
Recalled units will be fitted with redesigned belt-lock fixture.
